Dear, Friends:
Please join me in this journey - I have decided to take on 6 goals in 6 months.According to Dave Kohl, professor emeritus at Virginia Tech:
These statistics are sad, dismal, and poopie... but they made me want to act. This blog is here for the following three reasons:
- People who regularly write down their goals earn NINE times as much over their lifetimes as people who don't.
- 80% of Americans say they don't have goals.
- 16% do have goals but don't write them down.
- Less than 4% write down their goals and fewer than 1% review them on an ongoing basis.
1. For you
I'm a strong believer that a person can make those around them better just by being better themselves. So, if I can reach my goals then maybe I can help others reach theirs too. Going public with your goals also reinforces a greater level of accountability. By telling others your goals, you become reasponsible to them as well. DUNT DUNT DUH2. For me
Anyone that knows me will tell you that I'm great at coming up with the best ideas that you'll never hear me talk about ever again. By making my goals public they have now become real. I can't avoid them anymore. They are the 6 flies that won't quit bugging.3. For us
Let's make synergy to do more. It's already in our programming to want to grow so why don't we maximize our desire to do whatever it is we want to do by working together. We can encourage each other, share progress, share challenges, ask for help, and celebrate together. The plan...
I shall post once a week every Sunday for 6 months.I've outlined the two parts to each entry below:
- "Weekly Action Plan (WAP)" - One small task for each goal that I will commit to for the upcoming week.
- "What have you done for me lately?" - Progress from the previous week
I challenge you Pikachu!
Post 6 goals that you want to achieve in 6 months below and let's create some positive changing!
Words to ponder
"If you wait for the perfect conditions, you will never get anything done"
